Disney’s final full trailer for the highly anticipated live-action film Mulan – a remake of its 1998 animated fantasy film about the mythical Chinese heroine – aired during America’s Super Bowl, revealing new footage and clips from some epic battle scenes.

Twitter went into overdrive after the trailer’s release, with most of the reaction positive.

“Alright, #SuperBowl trailers! First up, this new #Mulan trailer is the best preview for the film yet! Not only does this seem to be a great adaptation, it looks like a great movie!” wrote one.

There was also praise for Chinese-American actress Crystal Liu Yifei, who plays Mulan, a woman who masquerades as a male warrior to spare her elderly father from military service, as well as support for fellow actress Gong Li, who plays a shape-shifting witch.

“Growing up, Gong Li was my hero. Vulnerable and fierce. She is the one I am looking forward to seeing in #Mulan” wrote another.
