Nobody stays young forever, not even the 10 members of K-pop group Golden Child – whose very identity revolves around the image of youth. But the members are doing their best to maintain the joie de vivre of childhood and bring it into their music as they develop as artists and individuals.

The group released new music on January 25, a five-track EP titled “[Yes.]” that reflects their adult perspectives and is filled with enthusiasm.

The group’s name refers to the members’ worth but also reflects a youthfulness they have incorporated into their music since their first single, DamDaDi, in 2017.

Like all children, Golcha – a portmanteau name the group often use – are growing up.

According to Jaehyun, the band’s fifth mini album, “[Yes.]”, represents a different take from their previous release, last summer’s “Take a Leap”, and shows how they have grown. “The last album was really childish. It was amazing, but now we’re working on a new style where we can explore being adults. I love it.”
