The second season of Lupin ended in the middle of 2021, during the height of the pandemic. Now, two years later, part three of the French mystery thriller has landed on Netflix.

After the events of season two, in which his gentleman burglar identity was exposed, Assane Diop (Omar Sy) plans to leave his life in France behind him – but the thief, who styles himself after French fictional thief Arsène Lupin, has one last robbery to make before that can happen.

Season three begins with Diop’s ex-partner Claire and their son Raoul being relentlessly hounded by the paparazzi and are constantly watched by the police. Diop, who has been lying low in Marseille, decides to return to Paris to take them out of France so that they can start a new life elsewhere.

To do that, he plans one final coup: he wants to steal a priceless pearl from a jewellery shop at the famous Place Vendôme in Paris – right in front of the eyes of the police.

Little goes as planned. While the robbery is successful, he suffers in his getaway and it is not long after that his long-estranged mother gets in touch to say she has been kidnapped. The adventures roll on from there.
