The entertainment industry last night mourned the sudden death of singer Teresa Teng, and some record shops have already increased prices of her albums in anticipation of increased demand from adoring fans.
Teng died on Monday night from respiratory problems developing from an asthma attack while on holiday in the northern Thai city of Chiang Mai. She was 42.
The unmarried star had complained about feeling unwell and retired to her room.
She had apparently panicked after an asthma attack, was rushed to a private hospital by hotel staff and died shortly after admission at 5.30pm.
Police said the singer, registered as Tang Lijun, was staying in Chiang Mai with a French male companion, who requested there be no autopsy.
