British rock band Oasis said on August 27 they were reuniting after 15 years, with brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher planning a series of live shows in 2025.
The band, whose debut album Definitely Maybe was released 30 years ago, split in 2009 when lead guitarist and main songwriter Noel said he could no longer work with Liam, the band’s frontman.
“This is it, this is happening,” the band said on X, announcing tickets would go on sale on August 31. The first show will be held in Cardiff on July 4, 2025.
Oasis will play a total of 14 gigs in Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin.

“This will be one of the biggest live moments and hottest tickets of the decade,” an online statement from the band said. “Plans are underway for Oasis Live ’25 to go to other continents outside of Europe later next year,” it added.
Oasis said of the tour: “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.”
The band will kick off the tour over two nights at the Principality Stadium in the Welsh capital, Cardiff, from July 4, 2025, before performing six gigs in Heaton Park in their hometown, Manchester.
They will then play London’s Wembley Stadium on August 2 and 3, Murrayfield Stadium in the Scottish capital, Edinburgh, on August 8 and 9 before moving on to Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland, a week later.
A tour in 2025 will mark the 30th anniversary of the band’s second album (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?, which included the singles “Don’t Look Back in Anger” and “Wonderwall”.

Oasis split in 2009 after many years of infighting, with Noel Gallagher officially leaving the band just before a performance at a festival near Paris. Even before the dissolution, the brothers had long had an antagonistic relationship and reportedly did not speak to each other for years after the break-up.
“People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer,” Noel Gallagher, the band’s guitarist and songwriter, wrote in a statement at the time.
While the Gallagher brothers haven’t performed together since, both regularly perform Oasis songs at their solo gigs.
With the announcement, the Britpop progenitors ended a few days of fan speculation. A short video on the band’s social media accounts on August 25 had revealed the date “27.08.24,” and time “8 a.m.”, written in the same font as the well-known Oasis logo. The brothers shared the same to their individual accounts.
