At 77 years old, Arnold Schwarzenegger is playing the role that has always suited him best. In the Netflix series Fubar, the Hollywood star portrays an ageing action hero with a hefty dose of self-irony, delivering witty one-liners.

It is clear that he is thoroughly enjoying himself.

Schwarzenegger says filming the new episodes was even more fun than the first season. “I think it was more fun because we knew each other,” he says.

The former governor of California returns as CIA agent Luke Brunner, a native Austrian who is on the brink of retirement.

At the start of season two, Luke is holed up in a safe house with his ex-wife Tally (Fabiana Udenio), his daughter and CIA colleague Emma (Monica Barbaro), Tally and Emma’s ex-partners, and several CIA colleagues after their secret identities have been exposed.
