From the high-octane glamour of Thierry Mugler to the super-cool street style of Virgil Abloh, fashion fans are in for a treat over the next few months as grand museums – and even a palace – unveil new fashion exhibitions.
Christian Dior will be celebrated in London, while camp fashion will be the big draw for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, which will host the glamorous Met Gala in May. Here are seven exhibitions for you to check out in the upcoming months.
1. “Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams”
If you missed this sell-out exhibition in Paris last year, here’s an opportunity to see a reimagined version of the show with a British twist.

Dior wore Savile Row suits; loved British post-war cooking; adored British stately homes and grand hotels where he staged his shows; and was particularly fond of Princess Margaret, who wore Dior for her 21st birthday. Her dress will feature in a new British section added to much of the original Paris exhibition.
The exhibition will bring to life those fashion shows held in stately homes, and will celebrates creations made for Dior’s well-heeled clients like ballerina Margot Fonteyn and author Nancy Mitford.
