The Lanvin show however had many highlights – and we’re not just referring to Kim Kardashian and Jared Leto’s new platinum locks.
Designer Alber Elbaz took a break from his effortlessly draped dresses and sent out a series of cropped tailored jackets and equestrian style tuxedo pants accessorised with tassled belts and flat riding boots. Sculptural leather harnesses cut across the torso to complete the modern look. There was also a definite Latin flavour in the peasant blouses and fringed dresses and coats which came in a palette of red, black and white.
For the evening the clothes took a dramatic turn with plenty of embellishments (a theme that has already been spotted at Dries Van Noten and Rick Owens). Gilded Boho-style dresses that brought to mind Elbaz’s Moroccan roots while colourful red and pink sequined roses brighten up a classic black dress.
