Bonhams jewellery auction set to sparkle
Rare and beautiful gems include Bulgari's emerald and diamond ‘Serpenti’ bracelet watch
Coloured gemstones along with rare signed jewellery will be offered at Bonhams jewellery sale later this month - its last sale of the year. Bonhams rare jewels and jadeite sale on November 30 will feature more than 160 lots with a value estimated at more than HK$100 million.
Stones up for auction include a pair of floral earrings set with cushion-shaped yellow orange diamonds estimated at HK$2.8 million - HK$3.8 million. A Kashmir sapphire and diamond ring has been estimated at HK$5.8 million- HK$7 million).
The auction house is also offering a 26.43-carat sapphire and diamond ring (estimated at HK$4.8 million-HK$5.8 million). Others include a purple/pink diamond pendant estimated at HK$12 million - HK$15 million and a rare oval-cut purplish pink diamond ring estimated at HK$4.5 million - HK$7 million.
A rare emerald and diamond ‘Serpenti’ bracelet watch by Bulgari, from around 1970 is another highlight. It is believed that Bulgari produced less than 100 of the iconic bracels between 1960 and 1970. The late Hollywood actress Elizabeth Taylor played an important role in propelling the snake bracelet into the spotlight when she wore one on the set of Cleopatra in 1962.
The auction will preview on November 28 to 30 at Bonhams Hong Kong Gallery
