No sooner had they rolled up the red carpet on one side of the pond, another was rolled out on the other side for music industry’s biggest hitters in Los Angeles, the Grammys. Younger, brasher and a whole lot bolder, the pop star and musician set also made much wilder sartorial choices than those attending the Baftas in London.
With a mane of bright orange, glittery blue eyeshadow and an embroidered blue satin suit dress slit dangerously high, Lady Gaga paid tribute to David Bowie with her outfit and later on stage.

Sure to melt the hearts of a million Beliebers, Justin Bieber looked slick in a white dinner jacket, arriving with his dapper little guest, six-year-old brother Jaxon.

Model Chrissy Teigan made sure her pregnancy didn’t get in the way of her drop dead glamour with an angelic, white floor-length gown and cape.
The men at film industry awards usually limit themselves to Tom Ford, Armani or Prada suits, so it was quite refreshing to see them in more colourful outfits at the Grammys.

Standouts were Sam Hunt’s pale pink suit, Aloe Blacc’s white linen suit and indigo batik shirt and Wiz Khalifa’s shrunken jackets.

Older rockers like Alice Cooper did skinny shirts, skintight jeans, chunky jewellery and wispy scarves. Sam Smith impressed with a classic navy three piece however.

Taylor Swift and her fashionable girl squad obviously turned heads. Swift colour blocked in youthful orange and hot pink Versace, showing off her washboard abs. Selina Gomez looked super sexy in a midnight blue Calvin Klein cut-out slip dress. There was no shortage of skin on this red carpet. Ciara’s stunning Alexandre Vauthier asymmetrical number was cut eye-wateringly high and tied at one side, but ultimately looked flawless.

The theme this year was ‘barely there’. Joy Villa seemed to want to give Lady Gaga a run for her money in a skeletal inspired “dress” (if you can call it that), very visible underwear and a bizarre headpiece and skirt train, because ahem, accessorising makes all the difference, apparently. Following in a similar tone but with marginally more success was Z Lala – all cut outs and construction, this was another dress that was perhaps more off than on – classical red carpet it was not.
