Elie Saab runway celebrates Game of Thrones’ warrior queens of fashion
From tumbling locks and feathered gowns to armour-like catsuits, the Lebanese designer’s collection was reminiscent of fearless women from a faraway land
As Game of Thrones returns to television screens this month, it seems it’s also returned to the thoughts of designer Elie Saab, whose atelier collection was reminiscent of the stylised fantasy show.

The chain-mail dresses and armour-like catsuits, from the fashion powerhouse, were the stars of its Paris haute couture runway on Wednesday.
In fact, the splendours of the medieval court, with its warrior queens and ethereal princesses, gave Saab the perfect narrative for his signature embroidered gowns in his collection this season.
Tulle and lace gowns, with long trailing sleeves and feathery details, added to the light ethereal mood.
Ruthless Game of Thrones warrior queens looked as if they were sent to protect their kingdoms in black, ruby red and forest green velvet and tulle gowns that were beaded with mystical cosmic symbols.
There was a fairy-tale quality to the ensemble, with princesses in richly embroidered cloaks, with fur trims matching velvet purses that dangled from their wrists on golden beaded chains.
But it was the warrior queens who provided the drama and stole the show.
