Say goodbye to the long and complicated 10-step routine long associated with K-beauty. Now it’s all about fast fixes, especially when it comes to make-up. Here are five items that will save a lot of prep time and make your daily regime a breeze.

Five unusual Korean beauty trends – will they give you flawless skin?

1. Laneige, Two-Tone Lip Bar (HK$185)

If you are a K-drama fan, there is every chance you have seen the “gradient lips” make-up of Korean actresses. “Gradient lips” or “gradation lips” is a technique aiming for a youthful and perky appearance. Is it difficult to recreate at home? No. The lip bar has a main colour and a sub colour, and a professional look can be yours with a single touch. The high-gloss vivid colour side of the lipstick is for the centre of the lips, while the semi-matt colour blends nicely to keep the outer line of the lips soft. Comes in 10 colour variations.

2. L’CRET, Magic Eyelid Shadow (US$23.95/HK$187 at ebay.com)

Do your uneven eyelids, mono lids or droopy eyes bother you? This eyelid shadow can help, without opting for plastic surgery. The product is a combination of shimmer eyeshadow and eyelid glue.

Shake the bottle well and spread the liquid evenly on the eyelids like other liquid eyeshadows. Gently press the desired area with the Magic Y Stick to create a crease. Then close the eyes, and let the liquid dry.

Apply the gel, let it coagulate for at least two hours, and remove slowly after it is completely dry. For stronger coloration, apply before bed and remove in the morning. To accentuate, use a brow mascara.

4. Switch, Selfting (US$13.51/HK$105.50 at ebay.com)

Afraid of a Botox shot, or contour make-up is too difficult? For a quick fix for a special event or a photo shoot, the Selfting lifting patch will save your day. The transparent patches, made with high-elastic, medical-grade PU film, lift a saggy neck, jawline, forehead and eyebrows instantly.
