Ghesquiere shows a cool, ready-to-keep autumn-winter collection for Vuitton in Paris
Since he started at Vuitton two seasons ago, Nicolas Ghesquiere has been building a wardrobe of beautiful pieces for the modern woman. For autumn/winter 2015 it was all about "a proposition of style" – think cool pieces that you will continue to wear forever, such as chubby sheepskin coats, chic leather pencil skirts and trousers, slouchy sweaters and sporty dresses with lace inserts. As usual the devil is in the finishings.
Urban touches could be seen everywhere, from the sheer tees printed with the word Louis Vuitton to the drawstring tailored trousers. The body hugging knits were some of the best we’ve seen all week and came with stiff ruffled hems on tops and skirts, or embellished with some sparkle.
When it comes to accessories, Vuitton goes from strength to strength. If you loved the Petite Malle trunks then chances are you will lust after the oversized vanity cases which came in futuristic silver plexiglass, or chic leather painted with initials. Another favourite was the Twist lock bag which was printed and embossed. Who says the logo is dead?
