Nestea Lemon Tea 
The acidity of the lemon is noticeable in this clear, dark brew, but not enough to overshadow the equally prominent taste of tea. It's pretty smooth on the palate, with only a hint of tannin, and the level of sweetness is just right.

Kirin Lemon Tea
The most elegant of those tried, this pale drink, the colour of toasted straw, is a delicate tea with the freshness of lemon. This is probably the closest to the home-made version, although the sugar level could be reduced slightly. HK$18.90, 500ml, Wellcome, citywide

Vita Lemon Tea 
Think robust flavours here, be they the high tannins or the intense acidity of lemon juice, or even the bitterness of the fruit's rind. This is one for those who like the heavier cha chaan teng (Cantonese tea café) style. HK$7.90, 500ml, ParknShop, citywide

Snapple Lemon Tea
This is best thought of as a sweetened tea with a tiny hint of lemon juice. The smoothness and light flavours are refreshing, but lemon lovers may be disappointed as the citrus is overshadowed and it is a little too sweet.

Lotte The Dream of Ceylon Tea Lemon Tea
Tea takes centre stage in this can of amber liquid. It is strong and has some tannins, although it doesn't leave the tongue feeling too dry. The lemon provides acidity and has a pleasant hint of freshness.
