Spelt is the distant cousin of modern wheat - an ancient grain with a rich, nutty flavour. This British product blends spelt flakes with roasted hazelnuts and almonds, pumpkin seeds, juicy pineapple, dates and flame raisins.
Verdict: I expected spelt to taste like cardboard, but the toasted and malted spelt flakes are slightly crisp and sweet, and complement the chewy dried fruits and crunchy nuts perfectly.
