The Chinese Restaurant at the Hyatt Regency in Tsim Sha Tsui is serving fresh abalone until the end of October.

The menu includes braised Australian abalone in oyster sauce; baked abalone tarts; stir-fried sliced abalone with assorted mushrooms and house-made XO sauce; braised abalone with chicken in clay pot; and double-boiled abalone soup with fish maw and bamboo pith in young papaya. Hoi Yat Heen Chinese Restaurant at the Harbour Plaza North Point is featuring a menu of wild mushrooms until October 31. Guests can taste double-boiled abalone soup with morels and Yunnan ham; sautéed diced beef with monkey head mushrooms;

It’s the season for the Tong Chong Street Market, which starts on October 4 and runs every Sunday until December 27. The open-air market features stands selling fresh produce, and drinks and food from shops such as Grassroots Pantry, Pololi, Teakha and TAP – the Ale Project. The market takes place from 11am to 5pm in Quarry Bay.

Dong Lai Shun at the Royal Garden in Tsim Sha Tsui is featuring cold seafood dishes until the end of October. The selection includes chilled purple radish stuffed with crabmeat salad; diamond clams with Shaoxing rice wine and beer; chilled mantis shrimps; and chilled razor clams with spicy mala sauce. It’s also time for Hong Kong Beer Week, on October 2-10. Food and beverage establishments throughout the city – including Madam Sixty Ate, The Woods and Little Lab – will feature special craft beer cocktails. The week ends with Beertopia, which takes place on October 9 and 10 at the Central Harbourfront, featuring craft beer, food, music and family-friendly events.
