Meaty and sweet: Hong Kong dining specials for February

Lobster and wagyu beef, chocolate workshops and afternoon tea, churrasco and fusion sushi among the culinary delights this month

Cafe 103 at the Ritz-Carlton in Tsim Sha Tsui is serving a Valrhona afternoon tea until February 29. For HK$378 plus 10 per cent (or HK$608 per couple), guests can have the set tea which includes chocolate scones with Guanaja chocolate cremeux; Ivoire chocolate and lemon tart; Manjari passion bar; and Infiniment rose macaron. Cafe Rivoli at the Regal Hongkong Hotel in Causeway Bay is featuring lobster and wagyu beef on the dinner buffet until the end of February. The selection includes wagyu beef shabu shabu; teppanyaki wagyu beef cubes with garlic; lobster bisque; and e-fu noodles with lobster and wild mushrooms. Three on Canton at the Gateway hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui is serving a Brazilian and Argentinian churrasco dinner until the end of February. The chefs are cooking grilled beef, chicken and seafood, as well as pork and black bean stew; pumpkin chorizo paella; and Argentinian potato salad. The buffet is HK$588 plus 10 per cent (HK$294 for children nine to 11; children under nine are free) Sunday to Thursday and HK$628 plus 10 per cent (HK$314 for children aged nine to 11). You have just a few days left to enjoy the chocolate trail at Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui, which ends on February 21. Pastry chefs have created chocolate sculptures and are conducting workshops and chocolate demonstrations; famous brands such as Pierre Hermè, Royce, Ladurée and Dalloyau have pop-up shops; several restaurants in Harbour City have chocolate tasting menus; and there’s also a chocolate trail cafe offering chocolates and drinks.

Sagano restaurant in the New World Millennium in Tsim Sha Tsui is featuring a set dinner of Japanese spiny lobster and fusion sushi until February 29. The dinner is HK$1,280 plus 10 per cent and includes Japanese-style stewed lobster; and fusion sushi such as foie gras with teriyaki sauce, shrimp tempura roll, and lightly-grilled scallop and caviar sushi.
