We’re deep in to white truffle season, and you can find the expensive treat at many restaurants around town. At Above & Beyond at Hotel Icon in Tsim Sha Tsui East, you can taste dishes such as tea-smoked duck eggs with oolong tea leaves and white truffle; and wok-fried lobster with egg white and white truffles. Italian chef Gianni Caprioli is featuring white truffles at both his restaurants, Giando, on Star Street in Wan Chai, and Gia Trattoria, in Fenwick Pier, Wan Chai. Giando’s dishes include scrambled Italian eggs with toasted bread and white truffles; and roasted Italian veal rack with grilled pumpkin, potato cream and white truffles. The menu at Gia features dishes of potato salad with asparagus, mozzarella and white Alba truffles; and sea-salt-baked whole sea bass with vegetables and white truffles.
