The craze for KFC – that’s Korean fried chicken, of course – hasn’t died down just yet. Dodam Chicken – another import from Korea – has landed in Lee Theatre Plaza serving an extensive range of dishes – and not only chicken ones – that are large enough to serve a crowd.

It’s not a huge space. The kitchen is at the back, and the dining area has two large screens on the walls showing K-pop videos to get you into the mood.

The menu can be overwhelming with so many chicken dishes to choose from – there’s baked, , fried, fried chicken with squid, or with cream sauce with onions, as well as non-poultry offerings such as barbecue pork ribs, pizza, salads and spicy seafood dishes.

My dining companion and I were hoping to sample a variety of chicken dishes, but our server warned that each serving was one whole chicken – there was no option to order half portions, so it seems they’re catering to big groups.

We tried two chicken dishes: crunch chicken (HK$178) and sweet and spicy chicken (HK$188).

We liked both flavours. The crunch chicken wasn’t greasy and we enjoyed the crunchiness of the skin that was far superior to the type you get at American fast food places. The meat was tender and juicy.
