King prawn Shioyaki at China Tang

China Tang’s regional dishes offer Hong Kong diners a taste of refinement

Plush surroundings, a harbour view and a range of exquisite dishes await those who are hungry for something different

The second China Tang to open in Hong Kong offers refined Chinese cuisine in an elegant setting and a harbour view. With a spacious bar, lounge and restaurant, David Tang’s signature plush carpets and bold colours abound.

Lobby and bar areas at China Tang, where David Tang’s signature plush carpets and bold colours abound.

The menu features Guangdong, Jiangnan and Beijing cuisine, exquisitely presented. We like the Jiangnan cold dishes, such as jelly fish tossed in spicy sauce and red wine flavoured goose liver terrine. The wok-fried crystal prawn with lobster bisque and Hangzhou vagabond chicken are also good as is the panna cotta with candied figs and steamed dark sugar cane sponge cakes with honey for dessert. A wide selection of wines is available.

Signature dishes

Marinated shrimps with “far dew” wine and plum

Baked pork-chop rice with mashed tomato
