Hong Kong dining specials: sake, Scandinavian shrimp and summer lobster

Spend summer sampling Scandinavian cuisine in Tsim Sha Tsui, savouring lobster three ways at The Peninsula, and sipping sake in Lan Kwai Fong

Until the end of July, Gaddi’s at The Peninsula is featuring lobster served three ways. Guests can choose between Brittany blue lobsters (HK$2,200 plus 10 per cent for two people) or Boston lobsters (HK$1,800 plus 10 per cent for two people). The meal starts with lobster claw salad with tomato jelly and avocado; a second course of lobster tail with pressed lobster head sauce with tarragon and herb gnocchi; and a final course of claw and meat custard with lemongrass sabayon and lobster claw doughnut. Sake Bar Ginn in Lan Kwai Fong will have its summer sake tasting on July 1. Guests can taste 10 types of summer sake, including Chokaisan Summer Draft, Shichida Natsu Jun Tokubetsu Junmai, Hanagaki Junmai Nigori Sparkling, Miyasaka Miyamanishiki Junmai Ginjo Nama, and Haneya Summer Junmai Ginjo. FINDS at The Luxe Manor in Tsim Sha Tsui is pairing Highland Park whisky with Scandinavian dishes on a special menu that’s available until the end of August. The four-course meal (HK$668 plus 10 per cent) includes smoked arctic shrimps and vendace roe served with Highland Park 12 Years Old, lightly smoked veal strip loin cooked at 63 degrees Celsisus with Highland Park Dark Origins, and Drottning (Queen’s) Cake, paired with Highland Park 18 Years Old.
