Good service, nice decor and healthy and tasty food at an incredible price. What’s not to love? The only gripe is a take-away box that didn’t fasten

G. Eyre Organic Fusion Bar serves up fresh, savoury organic dishes at a price that won’t make a big dent in your wallet.

Care is taken with the decor of the bright and cosy Wan Chai restaurant – there are delicate floral knick-knacks, butterfly and flower stickers on the walls, while several colourful leather chairs are decorated with the images of exotic forest animals. The service by the three neatly dressed waiters was eager and attentive.

We ordered the three most popular dishes, choosing one from the “light meals” section (which gives the calorie count of each dish) and twoset lunches. The drinks menu gave the nutrition details or medical properties of eachselection.

The starters included a sweet corn soup and a mixed organic green salad. The soup was healthy and delicious, with the pure taste of organic maize, while the salad was refreshing. We also had a fragrant, mildy sweet organic chamomile tea.

We enjoyed the set lunch of organic beetroot noodle with baby squid and prawns in light cream sauce (HK$88). It was an attractive red and had toothsome noodles that soaked up the seafood and beetroot flavours, and the light cream sauce coated the crunchy prawns.

The second set lunch of chicken breast fettuccine with asparagus in fresh basil sauce (HK$88) was also appetising, despite the dry chicken breast slices which weretoo chewyThe al dente pasta, zesty basil sauce and fresh asparagus made for a light summer dish.

King prawns with black sesame and roasted vegetables (HK$98) was served over fluffy brown rice. The prawns and black sesame flavours complemented each other and the vegetables.

We did find fault with the design of the take-away box, which had a lid that couldn’t be fastened.
