October was certainly a month of international dining: we reviewed restaurants serving Middle Eastern, Mexican, Peruvian, Spanish, Chinese, Singaporean, Italian and Thai cuisines. These three are top of our list for a return visit in November.

1. Bedu

This modern Middle Eastern restaurant on Gough Street, Central, serves up fabulous house-made flatbread, delicate dumplings, excellent lamb, and some of the best potatoes we’ve eaten. Read our review here.

2. Te Quiero Mucho

Ask any Californian what they miss most about the Golden State and chances are they’ll say it’s tacos. Well, at Te Quiero Mucho in the Mojo Nomad hotel in Central, you’ll find tacos that will satisfy that craving. Our favourites were “The Trump” – a warm corn tortilla wrapped around “a lot of beef tongue with a wall of crispy chicharron” – and the Wagyu taco, but the classic carnitas is also very good. 3. Ichu Peru

Peruvian chef Virgilio Martinez – of Central restaurant in Lima – has finally opened his long-awaited Hong Kong establishment, Ichu Peru, in the H Queen’s building in Central. Try the vividly flavoured raw dishes – the yellowtail ceviche with yuzu vinaigrette was especially memorable, the quinoa (of course!), the whole sea bass in banana leaf, and the excellent desserts.
