Modern French fine-dining restaurant ON Dining Kitchen & Lounge closes this evening after six years in Hong Kong’s Central business and entertainment district.
Philippe Orrico, chef-owner of the one-Michelin-star restaurant in On Lan Street, said an email today to customers: “The last six years have been such an incredible journey for me and you have been an integral part of it.
Not enough bankers one reason Hong Kong restaurant takings down
“It has been my absolute joy to cook for you all and hopefully we have created some memories here at On Dining that you will treasure.”
He adds that his other restaurant, Upper Modern Bistro, in Sheung Wan to the west of Central, continues to operate and will serve Orrico’s signature dish of roast pigeon with Indian spices and aged Comté cheese.
Orrico began his career in Hong Kong at Pierre at the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong, where he spent two years, before moving across the harbour to Hullett House, where he earned a Michelin star for its French restaurant, St George.
