The Easter long weekend is just around the corner, and there are so many delicious places to go in Hong Kong for treats for kids (and adults). Here are some suggestions:
Egg hunting 
Bathers at Lower Cheung Sha Beach is organising an Easter Egg hunt. Parents can tuck into a three-course lunch at 11am or dinner at 5pm that includes an appetiser buffet and a choice of mains, while the kids search for the eggs with a chance to win prizes. It costs HK$395 for adults and HK$290 for children and includes an appetiser buffet and kids’ main course.

Bonus treats 
Coco, the cafe and patisserie shop in The Mira Hong Kong has some fun farm animals to celebrate Easter with. They are made out of chocolate and there’s a bonus – crack the chocolate shells open to reveal even more goodies inside like house-made chocolate bonbons and marshmallows. There’s a pig, chicken and a cow to choose from, each costs HK$148. Coco also has a small pig shaped cake filled with plain chocolate mousse for HK$54. These treats are available until April 22.

Tortoise and the hare 
There’s always cute dim sum at Yum Cha – who can avoid ordering those char siu bao shaped like piggies and the salted egg yolk faces? Inspired by the fable of the tortoise and the hare they have created some rabbit -shaped hot custard glutinous rice dumplings, and cabbage pork buns that look like tortoises. There are also deep-fried turnip dumplings filled with jicama and shredded chicken that look like juicy carrots, and for dessert, baked pineapple puffs shaped like small chicks.

Artistic eggs 
On Easter Sunday, children who dine at Harbourside get the chance to decorate their own chocolate egg. They will be able to paint and decorate it and of course the Easter bunny will make an appearance too. The Easter Sunday brunch runs from 11.30am to 3pm and costs HK$898 for adults including free-flow Champagne, wine and beer, or HK$848 for free-flow juice and soft drinks. For children the price is HK$598 for children three to 11 years old. Dinner is from 6pm to 10pm at HK$898 per adults, HK$628 per child, three to 11 years old.

When families come for the lunch buffet, a clown and the Easter bunny will visit, and there are many activities for kids to do, including making balloon shapes, having their face painted, and even learning how to make the hotel’s famous palmiers or butterfly shaped cookies. On April 19 and April 22 it costs HK$458 for adults and HK$328 for children. On April 20 and 21 it costs HK$478 for adults and HK$358 for children.

Bunny bonbons 
Sugarfina offers some sweet treats for the upcoming holiday. There are four animal themed candy cubes at HK$88 each: fluffy bunnies made from fruity sour bunnies with soft marshmallow; bunny tails featuring strawberry marshmallow gummies rolled in tart crystals; baby carrots filled with orange flavour, and eggs made from vanilla flavoured marshmallows dipped in pure milk chocolate and have a candy shell. There are also Bunny Bark chocolate bars, one in pink, the other milk chocolate and covered in confetti and hundreds and thousands.

Decadent dessert 
Sevva in Central celebrates the holidays in style and Easter is no exception. The Carmen cake is a pretty dessert to finish an Easter-themed meal at the restaurant. The cake features white chocolate mint creme, plain chocolate chiffon sponge cake topped with pastel-coloured mini marshmallows and sugar flowers for HK$650 for a six-inch cake, HK$1,050 for an eight-inch cake.
