France’s Mirazur tops World’s 50 Best Restaurants at Singapore awards event, with Noma in Copenhagen and Asador Extebarri in Spain also winning big
- Half the top 50 restaurants are in Europe, with seven in Asia, including Gaggan in Bangkok, Odette in Singapore and Hong Kong’s The Chairman, a new entry
- This is the first time in the international awards’ 18-year history that the awards ceremony has been held in Asia
Mirazur in Menton, France, came in at number one on the new World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, which was announced on Tuesday in a ceremony at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore – the first time in its 18-year history that the international awards event has been held in Asia.
Taking the number two spot was Noma in Copenhagen, while coming in third was Asador Extebarri in Axtondo, Spain.
He added: “This year Michelin gave us three stars – the first time a non-French chef at a restaurant in France was given the top award. And this is the first time in the history of World’s 50 Best that a French restaurant has come in at number one.”

Hong Kong was represented by The Chairman, at 41 – the first time the Chinese restaurant made it onto the global list.
