Xiaomi 13T Pro flagship smartphone’s superfast charging blows iPhone 15s out of the water

  • 3-lens camera and a chip to rival ones in other top Android handsets are things you might expect in new Xiaomi phone, but 13T Pro’s charging time sets it apart
  • A full battery charge takes only 19 minutes, which may encourage some users to overlook annoying quirks like a low fingerprint sensor and preinstalled bloatware

You’re about to leave the house when you see that your phone has just 4 per cent battery. In situations like this, most smartphone chargers are too slow, and power banks, while portable, can be heavy and clunky.

While the latest iPhone 15 models need 90 minutes or more to fully charge, Xiaomi’s latest flagship phone can reach 100 per cent battery in just 19 minutes.

The Chinese manufacturer’s new 13T Pro can easily make it through a day of heavy use, but if the 5,000mAh battery starts to become drained, even just a 10-minute charge is likely to be enough to get you through the rest of the day and beyond.

That’s made possible by the 120W charger that comes in the box.

Even with a drained battery, a 10-minute charge should be all that’s needed to keep the Xiaomi 13T Pro going for the rest of the day and beyond. Photo: Xiaomi

Compare that to the 27W maximum charging speed of the iPhone 15 Pro. Xiaomi’s charger is bigger and heavier than most, but it’s also likely to stay in the same socket in your home most of the time.
