Reborn Rich season 2 Squid Game superstar Lee Jung-jae is lending his name to the next season of the smash hit Reborn Rich. Although it has not been made official that Lee will star in the series, he will be involved to some degree because Artist Company, the production company and management agency he owns, will take part in development of the new season. Reborn Rich, which starred Song Joong-ki as a loyal corporate lackey who was left for dead, then reincarnated as the grandson of the company’s chairman, achieved a staggering 27 per cent viewership rating, the highest ever for a Korean cable drama series. Season two of the show will reportedly expand its focus to a global corporation. Artist Company’s sister company, Artist United, now controls the IP of Reborn Rich after it acquired the show’s producer, RaemongRaein, last year. Lee made his Hollywood acting debut in Star Wars series The Acolyte last year as well as reappearing in Squid Game season 2. He will return for the third and final season of Squid Game this summer. 2. Forest of Humans It’s Okay to Not Be Okay star Seo Yea-ji may be making her long-awaited return to screens in the drama Forest of Humans, after receiving an offer to lead the cast. Based on a webtoon, the story is a thriller set in a facility housing a number of criminals exhibiting psychopathic tendencies who have been gathered to take part in secret experiments, following which they become paralysed. The series is expected to be for mature audiences only and as such is likely to find a home on a streaming platform. Seo was last seen in the prime-time melodrama Eve, but following that show she kept a relatively low profile after she was linked to various controversies. She has steadily been returning to her screen activities through various entertainment programmes, including an appearance as a host of Saturday Night Live Korea last month. Seo’s other major credits include the horror drama Save Me and the legal series Lawless Lawyer alongside Lee Joon-gi. 3. Awakening Last seen alongside Han Ji-min in Love Scout, Lee Joon-hyuk may next appear in the occult-themed fantasy drama Awakening for broadcaster SBS. The series may see Lee portray a teacher who also happens to be an exorcist, which comes in handy when supernatural events begin to plague his school. While Lee has reportedly been offered the part, his representatives have yet to make an official statement. However, in recent interviews he did joke that for his next project he hoped he might be able to catch ghosts instead of people, as his on-screen characters have in the past. Lee appeared as one of the main villains in the smash-hit action sequel The Outlaws: No Way Out in 2023 and last year reprised his role from Stranger to lead the spin-off series Dongjae: The Good or the Bastard. He has several other projects on the way, including a special appearance in the coming Netflix show Mercy for None and leading parts in several future K-dramas. With his popularity rising, Lee is set to embark on a fan meeting tour. 4. Endurance Doctor Shin Ye-eun has been offered a co-starring role alongside Lee Jae-wook in the coming drama Endurance Doctor, based on a webtoon of the same name. Reported to be playing the lead role earlier this year, Lee will appear as Do Ji-eui, a big-city plastic surgeon who suddenly finds himself working as a public health doctor on remote Pyeongdong Island. Shin will feature as Yook Ha-ri, a nurse who once worked at a prestigious university medical centre and now works alongside Ji-eui in the same Pyeongdong health clinic. Known for Alchemy of Souls, Lee last year led the Disney+ series The Impossible Heir and will be seen in the Netflix period drama Dear Hongrang later this month. Shin earned recognition for playing the younger version of the main bully in The Glory and was last seen in the acclaimed musical drama Jeongnyeon: A Star Is Born. The series will be directed by Lee Myung-woo, known for the first season of The Fiery Priest as well as streaming shows One Ordinary Day and Boyhood.
