A number of intriguing high-concept romantic dramas are courting a variety of major stars in a bid to heat up our K-drama schedules in 2026.
Read on for the latest TV casting news out of South Korea.
Men of the Harem
Bae Suzy (Doona!) has received an offer to headline the major period drama Men of the Harem, based on a web novel of the same name.
This fantasy drama follows a queen who uses male concubines to secure her position on the throne. Bae is being eyed to play Latin, the Empress of the Tarium Empire.

The series will be directed by Lee Eung-bok, known for hits ranging from Descendants of the Sun and Mr. Sunshine to Sweet Home, and is being written by Hwang Jin-young (My Dearest).
Last seen in the big-screen sci-fi melodrama Wonderland, Bae has three coming projects nearing release: the Netflix drama Genie, Make a Wish alongside Kim Woo-bin; the film Seven O’clock Breakfast Meeting for the Brokenhearted with Lee Jin-wook; and the Disney+ drama Delusion with Kim Seon-ho, currently filming.
Bae is known for being a former member of the K-pop group Miss A and for her solo music career in addition to her acting, which has also include roles in Ashfall and Start-Up.
Night Wanderer
After wowing viewers in the acclaimed Netflix drama When Life Gives You Tangerines alongside IU, Park Bo-gum may be gearing up to headline the drama Night Wanderer, based on a Chinese novel.

The novel tells the story of a forensic expert who suddenly discovers a portal to 1937 Shanghai in her flat, which opens every night between 11pm and 6am. In the past, she meets a young lawyer. The pair begin to form a bond as they meet every night in the flat.
The novel was first adapted as a Chinese series featuring Ni Ni and Deng Lun, which was shot in 2021 but has yet to air. The 36-episode series is set to debut on IQIYI.
The Korean adaptation is being written by Yoon Ji-ryun, who is known for the series Boys Over Flowers and Move to Heaven.
Park, who was nominated for best actor at the Baeksang Arts Awards for his role in When Life Gives You Tangerines, will be seen later this month alongside Kim So-hyun in the drama Good Boy.
The Damned Love
Love Next Door star Jung Hae-in and breakout actress Ha Young are set to lead the coming Netflix drama The Damned Love.

This romantic comedy will follow the close-quarters living arrangements of Go Eun-sae (Ha), a prosecutor suffering from amnesia who shares a flat with Jang Tae-ha (Jung), a gangster with exceptional fighting skills who keeps trying to convince Eun-sae that he is her boyfriend.
Jung is known for his roles in classic shows such as While You Were Sleeping and Prison Playbook and acclaimed series like D.P., in addition to films such as last year’s I, The Executioner, a sequel to Veteran.
My Demon director Kim Jang-han will direct the show, which is being written by Mo Ji-hye (You Raise Me Up).

After years of supporting parts in shows such as Mouse and Doona!, Ha broke out as an A-lister in the hit medical drama The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, for which she received a best new actress nomination at the Baeksang Arts Awards.
The Completion of Marriage
Namgoong Min has signed on for the lead role in the 2026 KBS drama The Completion of Marriage.
This romantic thriller follows a man who must fight a duel against a ruthless criminal to save his wife, who was kidnapped just before the couple finalised their divorce.
The lead role taken on by Min is that of Kang Tae-ju, a neurosurgeon who now works as a hospital director. Tae-ju reflects on his broken relationship with his soon-to-be ex-wife while striving to rescue her from her predicament.

Min will first return opposite Jeon Yeo-been as a filmmaker in next month’s Disney+ romantic drama Our Movie.
After debuting opposite Lee Byung-hun in the film Bungee Jumping of Their Own in 2001 and gaining recognition in the Zo In-sung gangster saga A Dirty Carnival, Min has established himself in recent years as a small-screen star in series such as Hot Stove League, One Dollar Lawyer and My Dearest.
