Bae plays the psychopath Ga-yeong, whose tendencies have long been kept in check by her grandmother. One day, she happens upon a curious lamp and inadvertently awakens the mischievous Genie (Kim), who has been asleep for the past 1,000 years.

Genie grants Ga-yeong three wishes and soon an unusual romance unfolds, not least because Genie is actually Satan.

Kim Eun-sook, who is also known for Mr. Sunshine, Guardian: The Lonely and Great God and Descendants of the Sun, is not the only major name behind the camera. Co-directing the series are Ahn Gil-ho, who helmed The Glory, and Lee Byeong-heon, known for the big-screen comedy smash Extreme Job. (Netflix, October 3)
