Korean actor Kim Woo-bin may headline the baseball-themed drama series Gift.

A baseball drama, a fantasy romance, a romantic melodrama and the star-studded return of one of Korea’s most celebrated writers feature in the last round of casting announcements before most of South Korea shuts down for this year’s extra-long Chuseok harvest holiday.

1. Gift

Kim Woo-bin has just returned to the small screen opposite Bae Suzy in the Netflix series Genie, Make a Wish and reports suggest that he may be following that up with Gift, a baseball-themed drama based on a webtoon.

Kim has been offered the role of Jeong Min-young, a pitching coach at a professional baseball team, whose life takes a strange turn after a fire leaves him with special abilities.

He makes a career change and becomes the kind head coach of the amateur baseball team at Deokcheon High School.

Though his last drama role before Genie, Make a Wish was Black Knight in 2023, Kim appeared in a pair of feature films last year, the Netflix action comedy Officer Black Belt and Alienoid: Return to the Future.
