After a few quiet weeks on the casting front, a flurry of K-drama announcements has been making headlines this month, with stars signing on to buzzy projects spanning workplace fantasy, mystery-thrillers and period romantic comedies.

Embassy for Foreign Monsters in Korea
Lee Jun-ho of the K-pop boy group 2PM is in talks for the leading role in the high-concept fantasy series Embassy for Foreign Monsters in Korea.
The story follows a human diplomat who is accidentally assigned to work at an embassy that manages monsters living in South Korea. The ambassador of the agency is a water deity – a dragon – disguised as a human.

Lee is considering the role of Cha Yeon, the supernatural ambassador who runs this mysterious facility and has been stuck on Earth for 1,200 years.
In addition to his stage activities, Lee has been a consistent presence on screen in recent years, starring in shows such as King the Land, Typhoon Family and Cashero.
Hierarchy director Bae Hyun-jin will helm the series, which is being scripted by Shin Ha-eun (Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha). The drama is scheduled to launch on tvN in 2027.
The Office Worker Who Sees Destiny
Following this month’s See You at Work Tomorrow! and March’s Boyfriend on Demand, Seo In-guk will once again be suiting up for a workplace drama, this time alongside Krystal Jung of the K-pop girl group f(x) in The Office Worker Who Sees Destiny.

Based on a web novel, the tvN series features Seo as Choi Young-hoon, a man born to become a shaman. Although he possesses the ability to see the fates of others, he is prophesied to bring turmoil to the world. However, Young-hoon only wants to live a normal life.
After spending years as an outcast, Young-hoon finally joins the workforce as a 33-year-old rookie at Pilsan Trading. There, he attempts to focus on his work and hide his abilities; however, once he gets embroiled in internal corporate power struggles, his plans to lie low are completely derailed.
Jung, recently seen in Mad Concrete Dreams, will appear as Im Yeon-hee, a corporate heiress who returns to her family’s company after studying abroad and discovers Young-hoon’s secret.
Dash
Recently seen in the hit comedy Filing for Love alongside Gong Myung, Shin Hye-sun has been confirmed to star in the coming SBS mystery drama Dash.

She is set to play Min Hwa-young, a prosecutor torn between personal loyalty and judicial rectitude when her husband is accused of murder. As she attempts to seek out the truth, she also continues to investigate the mystery surrounding her mother’s death many years earlier.
After breaking out in Mr. Queen (2021), Shin has gone from strength to strength, generating acclaim and strong ratings through magnetic performances in shows such as Welcome to Samdal-ri and The Art of Sarah. She is also set to appear opposite Na In-woo in Netflix’s Love O’Clock, due out next year.
Dash is expected to premiere in 2027.
Secret Love Tales of Suseong Palace
Rising actress Chae Won-bin, who appeared with Ahn Hyo-seop in Sold Out on You earlier this year, has found her next project: the period drama Secret Love Tales of Suseong Palace, co-starring Kang Hoon (Hunter with a Scalpel).

Chae will play Un-yeong, a court lady in Suseong Palace, while Kang is slated to appear as Yi Hyang, the eldest son of King Sejong who later assumes the throne as King Munjong.
Kang, who has appeared in several period dramas including The Red Sleeve and The Secret Romantic Guesthouse, will soon be seen in the tvN drama My Bias, My Boss with Kim Hye-joon.
Also set to appear in the series are Lee Ki-taek (The Practical Guide to Love) and Kim Mu-jun (Dynamite Kiss) as Grand Princes Jinyang and Anpyeong.
The series, which will commence production in July, is being produced by Astory, the studio behind global hits such as Signal and Kingdom.
