June is looking to be a sequel-heavy month, with three popular dramas set to return for another season. Beyond those, romance is in the air for another trio of shows, including yet another new series featuring rising star Song Kang.
The Penthouse Season 3
Following a shocking death during the finale, we now have a new villain on the horizon for what may be the final season of the show. But always expect the unexpected when it comes to The Penthouse. (Launches June 4, SBS)
Blue Spring from a Distance
KBS2’s youth romance follows the time-honoured tradition of a wealthy and aloof young man gradually falling for a scrappy young woman.
Park Ji-hoon will play the handsome university student Yeo-joon, who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth but lacked affection from his family growing up. At the same university is the diligent student So-bin, played by Kang Min-ah, who has been living with her father following her parents’ divorce.
A potential love triangle emerges thanks to Soo-hyun, played by Bae In-hyuk, a cynical top student who works hard to support this family. (June 14, KBS2)
