Kim Seon-ho, the star of hit South Korean television show Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, was embroiled in scandal shortly after the series finale aired on October 17.
The following day, anonymous allegations were posted online by someone claiming to be a former girlfriend of an unnamed actor, which were subsequently linked to the 35-year-old Kim. In the post, the individual claimed the former boyfriend coerced her into having an abortion and misled her about their relationship and his career before ultimately breaking up with her.
On October 19, Kim’s company, Salt Entertainment, issued an apology for the upset the rumour had caused, and declared it was looking into the anonymous allegations.
Soon after Kim was linked to the anonymous allegations, companies with which he has endorsement deals, including Domino’s Pizza Korea and Canon Korea, began removing ads and social media posts featuring the actor.
