- Korean medical drama series Dr. Romantic is back for a third season, and offers a compelling mix of medical thriller, office drama and action
- Han Suk-kyu returns as ‘Master Kim’, performing surgical miracles, helped by Ahn Hyo-seop’s fellow doctor. There’s a treat for Extraordinary Attorney Woo fans

Han Suk-kyu is back as the beloved countryside surgeon ‘Master Kim’ in the third season of Dr. Romantic, which arrives three years after its second season. The show set an opening episode audience record on South Korean broadcaster SBS and is streaming in selected international territories on Disney+.
Lead protagonists in medical dramas are always preternaturally gifted doctors, but even among that rarefied pantheon of characters, Han’s doctor is a particularly venerated figure. He is looked up to by everyone around him; they even use the honorific ‘Master’ with him, instead of the traditional ‘Doctor’.
Season three maintains Master Kim’s mythical status with a breathless opening episode that finds him performing surgery on a boat while it sways in choppy waters far off the Korean coast in the middle of the night.
The boat’s passengers are North Korean defectors, among them a young brother and sister. Surgery becomes necessary when a gunfight breaks out, killing and injuring several of the passengers – including the father of the children, who winds up fighting for his life with several bullets wreaking havoc on his insides.
