The ceremony was broadcast live from South Korea with a virtual audience because of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Among the K-pop acts up for awards on the night were BTS, NCT, Mamamoo, Taemin, Monsta X, Oh My Girl, Ateez, Twice, Seventeen and many, many more. This years Mamas were hosted by none other than Song Joong-ki and was a night full of big wins and even bigger performances.
