A new version of BTS’ hit album BE is set to arrive next month.

An “Essential Edition” of the album, which was originally released in the form of a “Deluxe Edition”, will come out on February 19.
BE first arrived on November 20 last year featuring a series of contemplative tracks that flitted between various genres and emotive styles, serving up a soundtrack of 2020 and sharing the septet’s perspective on the unique pandemic situation.

The new edition is said to encapsulate “BTS’ deepest appreciation towards their fans who have stood by every milestone”, according to a press release.

BTS’ label, Big Hit Entertainment, said the Essential Edition will contain the same eight tracks released on the Deluxe Edition – singles Life Goes On and Dynamite, each of which topped the United States’ Billboard Hot 100 chart, along with Fly to My Room, Blue & Grey, Skit, Telepathy, Dis-ease and Stay – along with several elements not included on the original record.

Big Hit said the group would also “unveil” a series of surprise gifts ahead of the album’s release.

No other details have been shared publicly about the upcoming new version at this time, although in the past BTS have featured remixed or alternate songs on follow-up albums, such as a remix of DNA on 2018’s Love Yourself: Answer after it was previously released on 2017’s Love Yourself: Her.

The deluxe edition of BE had sold more than 2 million copies globally as of January 7, according to South Korea’s Gaon Music Chart.

The essential edition of BE is set to be the group’s first album release of 2021. Pre-orders began on January 25.

BTS were named the entertainer of the year by Time magazine last year, and their single Dynamite received a Grammy Award nomination for best pop duo/group performance.
