K-pop star D.O. has celebrated his return from military service with a cover of one of his own songs.

The Exo member and popular South Korean actor, whose real name is Doh Kyung-soo, returned to civilian life on Monday after enlisting in South Korea’s armed forces in 2019.

He greeted fans with a live stream that night and revealed that he’d performed a new version of his song That’s Okay that would be uploaded to the K-pop band’s YouTube channel to mark his return to the entertainment industry.

That’s Okay was released on July 1, 2019, the day he enlisted in South Korea’s military. D.O. co-wrote the heartfelt lyrics of the comforting song. The new video shows D.O. in a studio singing along to the song, which he had never before been seen performing, since its release came after he had already said a temporary farewell to public life.

He also mentioned he is working on a solo album.
