Top Tables Edit: How the Andaz Macau blends East and West with dishes, drinks and decor
- Already boasting addresses in London, Los Angeles, Dubai, Bali and beyond, Andaz is now loudly installed with its largest hotel yet at the Galaxy Macau
- From the blend of Chinese and Portuguese flavours at Andaz Kitchen, to the wooden archways, mosaic tiles and embroidered couture gowns, the hotel immerses guests in culture

After a period of stasis during Covid-19, Macau is back with a bang this year. A number of new openings that were put on hold for the pandemic have launched in quick succession. One of the most exciting is the launch of Andaz Macau.
The hotel is one of the most important for the Andaz brand – with more than 700 uniquely appointed rooms and suites, Andaz Macau will be the brand’s largest hotel worldwide, as well as its first and only location in Macau.
Andaz – whether in London, Los Angeles, Dubai, Bali or beyond – are renowned for being establishments deeply rooted in the local art and culture of their cities. Rather than encasing guests in a bland bubble cut off from their destination, Andaz properties provide guests the opportunity to experience an array of authentic, multisensory local experiences.

Nowhere is this more true than at Andaz Macau, which sits within Galaxy Macau. Located between the historic neighbourhoods of Old Taipa and Coloane, the hotel allows visitors a chance to embrace the “real” Macau. The decor itself takes inspiration from the heart of the old city – a Unesco World Heritage site – with its blend of Eastern and Western architecture.
However, if food is the way to a person’s heart, then it is in Andaz Macau’s restaurants and bars that guests will most strongly be able to feel the real Macau.
Inspired by the traditional shop fronts of small Macanese stores, Andaz Kitchen is an all-day dining destination. Guests can witness chefs at work live, crafting flavoursome Portuguese, Macanese and regional Chinese dishes as well as Western classics.

Each section of the Kitchen is home to different flavours and cuisines, all overseen by executive chef André Lai, who developed a love for cooking during his childhood growing up in a family of diverse cultural influences. Experienced in preparing both Portuguese and Chinese cuisines, Lai has selected offerings that present an array of dishes that help guests connect with their locale.
