Food review: Amico Italian Wine Bar & Restaurant

Italian
about HK$560 without drinks or the service charge.

mostly, the service was fine.
when I first sat down, I was given only the two set menus, which offer five courses at HK$398 or HK$598, plus 10 per cent; I wouldn't have known there was a regular menu if I hadn't seen someone at another table with it. The piped music wasn't to our liking, but even worse was the duo - a guitarist and singer, who performed songs by Abba and Barry Manilow. We were probably in the minority, though - our fellow diners seemed to appreciate them.
My starter of home-made tonnarelli with Sicilian shrimp and date tomatoes (HK$328) had good pasta, but far too much sauce - it should just lightly coat the pasta strands, not drown them. The three heads-on prawns didn't have much flavour. I asked for the Kagoshima pork chop with berries and red wine sauce (HK$258) to not be overcooked, but it was, and the meat was so dry I wouldn't have known it was supposed to be premium-quality pork.
