… one show to attend it would be to see my friend, Brooklyn-based sound installation artist Aaron Taylor Kuffner, who is showing his gamelan robot at the Sundaram Tagore Gallery on Hollywood Road. Taylor studied the gamelan (a traditional Balinese instrument) on the Indonesian island for years and created the "Gamelatron" so he can control the gongs and bells of the instrument by computer. I love his music, which mixes Balinese tradition with modern electronic beats and techno (as I am German). The exhibition runs until November 2. Philipp Engelhorn, freelance photographer
