This is one of the must-see spots. Tasik Dayang Bunting, or the Lake of the Pregnant Maiden, is a freshwater lake on the island of Dayang Bunting, the second largest island in the Langkawi archipelago. It is a beautiful spot to swim and while away the time - and it comes complete with its own folklore. There are several versions of the legend, but one story goes that the offspring of two genies died and was interred in the lake. Ever since, it has been said that the lakewater can help barren women become pregnant. Scurrilous legends aside, you can park yourself on the floating wooden platforms and just relax. Paddle boats and canoes are also available for rent at 20 ringgit (HK$47) for half an hour.
Located in the heart of the Oriental Village, Bolaven Cafes Langkawi (bolavencafes.my) claims to have the best coffee on the island. It also gives you the chance to get up close and personal with a Malayan tiger. Raised in captivity, Zanah can be found taking a dip in the small pool or lazing around the enclosure. If you're lucky, she will come right up to the glass window as you sip your coffee. There are just 500 Malayan tigers left in the wild,so don't miss seeing this magnificent creature. The coffee is pretty good, too.

More than 90 metres high, this waterfall is located at Burau Bay, on the slopes of Mt Cincang. It is a series of seven pools fed by seven separate waterfalls, and it is a breathtaking sight. You can take a dip in the frothy waters here, but be warned; reaching the top will require a considerable hike up a 45-degree slope. Along the way, you will probably spot a macaque monkey or a giant squirrel or two.
