Style confessions: stylist and artist Akubi Yeung shares her fashion palette

Akubi Yeung’s exploration in visual expression began with an adolescent interest in J-pop and silent films. When she’s not on set styling for films, commercials or magazines, she devotes her time to painting

A must-have item in my wardrobe.


Patterns and colours make my day. Layering adds extra character.


When I come up with styling ideas, music and personal space helps. I lock myself in my office and focus. Creation is not limited to any material or space.

I teach painting on the side. I enjoy learning from my students - I get new and sometimes unconventional ideas from teenagers.
