"Wontonmeen is a creative hub where like-minded people can meet and mingle," says founder Patricia Choi, a designer who has converted a Lai Chi Kok Road apartment building into studios, a hostel and a shop, gallery and event space. On the ground floor, there's 100ft Park, a tiny art gallery that is hosting a solo show by Taiwanese photographer Wang Chien-yang. Immediately behind the gallery is Holicycle, which sells impeccably stylish bicycles and accessories; for HK$20 per hour, you can rent a bike and take it for a spin around Sham Shui Po. At the back, an eclectic living room is decorated with vintage furniture and bric-a-brac. It's the site of frequent film screenings, parties and music sessions. Christopher DeWolf
