The vibe: judging from the crowds of suited-up beer lovers, Tipping Point is thriving. The bar and brewing company's stripped down, minimalist decor manages to exude a degree of warmth thanks to boisterous crowds and the eager-to-help beer experts behind the bar.
A great place to enjoy an after-work beer of unusually good quality with like-minded people, and a breath of fresh air in its location among the blinking lights, and bankers-run-amok vibe of Wyndham Street.
The drinks: I shouldn't really have to say this, but you should order beer.

Tipping Point boasts an eclectic selection of beers on tap and an ever-changing list of bottled craft beers from around the world. They offer two of their own beers on tap: the Tipping Hazel Nut Brown Ale (HK$65) and the Tipping Point Pale Ale (HK$65). The Brown Ale was excellent, and the Pale Ale was fine, although on the yeasty side.
The most interesting of the bottled beers was the Sun Dancer from Denmark. It was boldly Nordic with a hint of pine.

The most disappointing beer of the night was the Big Wave Golden Ale from the Kona brewery in Hawaii. Even with its unmistakable hints of tropical fruit, we all found the beer boring and watery.
The verdict: a great place to go for beer lovers in a city that often leaves them wanting.
