If I Only Had ... Film Editor Yvonne Teh

... one film to catch this week, it would be Yasujiro Ozu's . A poignant tale of love and loss in postwar Japan, it was the master auteur's personal favourite. Screening at the Hong Kong Arts Centre on July 19 as part of the HK International Film Festival Society's HK Cine Fan programme, this 1949 offering stars the ever-dependable Chishu Ryu and the luminous Setsuko Hara, both of whom also appeared in Ozu's better known (1953).
