Opened in 2000 as a small upstairs boutique in Causeway Bay, Magenta is now at street level in the bustling shopping district. It stocks an abundance of indie labels for between HK$500 and HK$3,000, including Back by Sweden's Ann-Sofie Back, Starstyling from Berlin and Andrea Crews from Paris. Founder Doreen Man, a fine arts graduate from York University in Toronto, visits Paris four times a year and Seoul twice yearly to bring back womenswear for her noted customers, said to include Shu Qi and Alexa Chung. Other great accessories include a Joomi Lim necklace for about HK$3,000 and Crezus rings from HK$300.
