The vibe: Mother Nature has waved her gnarled wand and created an interior that's warm and cosy with rustic touches in all the right places. Even the menus are made of wood.

First impressions were positive. The natural elements hit you as soon as you walk through the door (although finding the entrance is a bit of a struggle). It is a far cry from the other generic bars in the area.

The dimly lit space has been divided into two sections: a lounge area to fit 50 and the intimate eight-seat "Prix-Fixe Bar".

The drinks: the menu changes with the seasons. What is unlikely to change, however, is the care put into each creation.

The natural theme has spilled over into the drinks and the oak-infused whiskey sour (HK$155) is one of the city's best with smoky flavour and faint traces of vanilla. My friend's lighter Watermelon Cilantro (HK$120) hit the spot. The ingredients come together harmoniously, helped along with lime leaf-infused Tito's vodka. But don't let the pretty-in-pink hue fool you — the chilli gives it a surprising kick. We shared a Fizzy Cucumber Gimlet (HK$135) that was as light and fluffy as any five-star hotel pillow.

The verdict: this is a place where food takes second billing and where drinking has been elevated to an art form. The cocktail bar has definitely been raised.
