The Shopper: Cozy by Kevin Amato

I.T work with some of the coolest names in the fashion business — the latest, New York photographer Kevin Amato, has built a reputation with his gritty, urban images in Interview, Dazed & Confused, Flaunt and GQ over the past 10 years, as well as campaigns for Coca-Cola, Reebok and Sony.
His reportage-style photographs of life around his neighbourhood in the Bronx embrace the real street culture of New York and how the youths adapt fashion to their urban environment, a world away from the glossy avenues of uptown Manhattan.
Amato's images are brought together in a book of personal and professional work supported by a capsule fashion and homewear collection at I.T.

The monograph Cozy ("It's a term that me and my friends are constantly using. 'Cosied up', or 'cosy boys'. It's about feeling right," says Amato) showcases his interest in, and influence on, the intersection of street culture and high fashion.
His photographic style is laid-back and candid, and shows a selection of models, from friends and street castings to celebrities and lovers.
