Essence at the Novotel Citygate in Tung Chung has Indian dishes on its lunch and dinner buffets until the end of November. The selection includes Goan fish curry (below), Bengali lentil curry with aubergine salad, and Maharashtra chicken curry. There are several events coming up for which you should book quickly. Seiji Yamamoto, executive chef of Nihonryori RyuGin in Tokyo, will be cooking a special kaiseki dinner at Tenku RyuGin in the ICC from November 21 to 23. On November 27, Jean-Charles Cazes of Chateau Lynch-Bages, a fifth-growth in Pauillac, in Bordeaux, will present his family's wines at a dinner at Whisk at the Mira in Tsim Sha Tsui. The dinner is HK$1,388 plus 10 per cent and includes wagyu beef done three ways: raw with crunchy rice, served with Chateau Lynch-Bages 2009; the cheek with vinegar, spice and black garlic with the vintage 2005; and striploin with cherries, olives and tobacco with the vintage 1995.
